Gardner Bender’s Big Ben aluminum hand bender improves on traditional hand bender designs with a number of enhancements aimed at durability and ease of use. The hook has been enlarged for a 5x durability factor, while the foot pedal is 40 percent larger with increased clearance, allowing use with a booted foot. Markings are highlighted for visibility, and a dual sight-line system supports bending both on the floor and in the air.

The bender includes industry standard markings to simplify bending, with a 30 degree bend achieved when the handle is held straight up. It is made of rugged, heat-treated aluminum and backed by a lifetime warranty.

The package includes both the bender head and a patented, pre-threaded bender handle. The handle is constructed of high-strength steel for strength and durability, with a red powder-painted finish that improves both durability and visibility on the job site. A comfort grip design improves grasping and leverage.

Also included is a bend-back channel to correct conduit over-bends, and a Vise-Mate feature that holds conduit in place while cutting or reaming. A detailed hand bending manual is included, illustrating various bends and the methods used to achieve them, including the mathematical formulas needed for more complicated bends.

This model is designed for 1/2″ EMT conduit. Other head sizes are also available, including 1″ (Model #962) and 3/4″ (Model #961).
