ABB Earth Enhancing Compound
September 18, 2026Axis Earth Enhancing Compound
Axis Earth Enhancing Compound is a specialized backfilling compound composed of a unique blend of minerals designed to reduce soil resistivity. Its formulation and performance align with industry standards such as IEC 62561-7, IEEE 80 and BS 7430.
The compound consists of bentonite, graphite, carbon-based black powder and a mix of odourless, water-insoluble inorganic components such as Na₂O, K₂O, CaO and MgO. It is RoHS compliant, non-hazardous and environmentally stable, capable of withstanding thermal variation of up to ±60°C for 24 hours.
Axifill
Axifill is a highly conductive bentonite-based earth enhancing compound engineered for low resistivity applications (≤ 0.12 Ωm). It incorporates mineral additives and moisture-absorbing agents to ensure reliable contact with the electrode and sustained performance in dry conditions, along with high-strength binders to maintain compaction and conductivity around the electrode. Axifill is RoHS-compliant, non-leaching, and tested for resistivity, corrosion, thermal stability and sulphur content.
Axifill-ultra
Axifill-ultra is a premium graphite-based earth enhancing compound optimized for chemically aggressive or high-resistivity soils. It features a neutral pH (7 ± 1.0) to prevent corrosion, along with multi-layer carbon structures for superior conductivity. Moisture-retaining and pH-controlling agents help stabilize soil conditions and ensure year-round performance, while high-strength binders support cohesive compaction. The compound passes IEC 62561-7 and RoHS testing for leaching, resistivity and environmental safety.
Axifill-lite
Axifill-lite is a bentonite-based backfill compound designed for high-moisture soils and sandy terrains. It swells up to 13 times its dry volume, retaining water and reducing voids to maintain low soil resistivity (≤ 2 Ωm). Its non-toxic, non-corrosive formulation complies with IEEE 80 and IEC 62561-7 and contains no leachable elements. High moisture retention and an inert composition make it suitable for long-term earthing reliability in waterlogged or variable soil environments.
